Diversity is counting heads. Inclusion is about making heads count.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-led groups that foster a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with organizational mission, values, goals, business practices, and objectives. Other benefits include the development of future leaders, increased employee engagement, and expanded marketplace reach.

What is the purposes of an Employee Resource Group Program?

  • An ERG Program creates an open forum for employees who share a common identity to meet and support one another in building their community and sense of belonging.

  • The program empowers these groups by offering them financial support, organizational support and access to decision makers.

  • The program facilitates a clear line of communication from ERGs to leadership in order to voice concerns and solve problems.

  • The ERGs provide a resource for leadership regarding employee/community issues, needs and policies.

  • The program seeks to advance a respectful and inclusive company culture.

Research shows that engagement is the key factor that promotes higher performance and effort, greater returns, and lower turnover. Yet across companies, industries, and countries, studies show that only 11-19% of employees are highly engaged. In this course, you will examine the foundational drivers of engagement, explore the components of successful engagement initiatives, and identify strategies for creating stronger engagement in teams.

When effectively organised and led, ERGs can offer strategic advantages to the organisation.

Our ERG leadership programme equips ERG leaders with the key leadership skills they need in order to be successful and influential.

Course Outcomes:

  • An understanding of how to effectively catalyse change and drive engagement

  • Awareness of how to develop positive participation, power, and influence
